Policies which the nominator knows the nominee supports or in which they have expertise:

Age based macular degeneration (AMD) is the second leading cause of blindness in the world. Like Type II diabetes and heart disease, it was virtually unknown before the introduction of "the displacing foods of modern commerce" in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Dr. Chris Knobbe has done more than any other doctor that I'm aware of to show definitively that we know the cause of AMD -- a toxic and degraded food supply -- and chart a path to cure the disease for everyone.

Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government

    1) Is Competent ...
Clinical associate professor at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Licensed and trained Ophthalmologist with a long and successful career. Author of scientific publications and well-received books.

    2) Is Honest...
Doggedly followed the trail of evidence, collecting and meticulously reading textbooks from the 1800s-1900s to discover when AMD was first diagnosed. Corresponded with Ophthalmologists in other countries to determine whether increased incidence of AMD was correlated with the adoption of processed food in the modern day. Eventually concluded the rise of AMD correlates through time and space with the consumption of certain processed foods (seed oils, trans fats, refined flour and sugar).

    3) Is Respectful ...
He's responded to countless personal emails from people who are affected by AMD with care, compassion, and professionalism, for no charge.

    4) Has Integrity ...
After making these discoveries, has written several books, made countless presentations, does dozens of interviews, and works full time at a non-profit foundation for no compensation to spread the message.

    5) Has Courage ...
Chose to pursue this full time instead of continuing a lucrative Ophthalmology practice because he felt he could make a larger impact.

    6) Has a Proven Record...
Many patients helped (including my family member) at a very high rate of cure for AMD. AMD is highly correlated with other metabolic diseases like heart disease and type II diabetes, and so by halting the progression of AMD he is likely helping his patients in other ways.
