Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government

    1) Is Competent - has a proven track record of success in the aviation industry. As a pilot and now Captain, ensuring the safety and ownership of everything related to the operation of the aircrft, as a Professor, in the education of the future generation of aviation professionals, and as a business owner serving rural America and employing dozens of full time aviation and medical professionals.
    2) Is Honest - in believing that everyone has strengths and weaknesses, that are involved in decisions. Open to feedback that may or may not align with established perspectives. This creates a transparent environment for accurate decisions. This is proven daily on the flight deck, with numerous examples of soliciting feedback, discussing options, and making and implementing decisions.
    3) Is Respectful - working with broad, diverse groups of peopole - including crewmembers, ground personnel, management, passengers, students, and many others. Its important that we admit that we come from different backgrounds and different perspectives, with a shared interest in the right decisions.
    4) Has Integrity - nobody is perfect. But our actions and decisions show who we are as people. As a Captain, we take the blame for when things go wrong, and we give the credit when things go well. Leadership is everthing - and the only thing that relates to a successful outcome in any situation.
    5) Has Courage - must face difficult situations, uncomfortable situations, routinely. Both in the flight deck, and working with students in difficult situations. Making the right decision is always better than making a popular but not correct decision.
    6) Has a Proven Record - successful in numerous areas of professional work. Including, technical positions, leadership positions such as business owner and various flight management positions, and educator.
