I am a practicing physician for 27 years who is a retired US Army Colonel, combat veteran with 4 bronze stars and a combat air medal. I am a board-certified in occupational and environmental health and in aerospace medicine, which is in the field of preventive medicine. I am passionate for public health policies and improving the health and welfare of the general population. This is exactly on point for the experience of what you would want the Surgeon General of United States to have to provide well thought out successful, scalable, and achievable policies. I will promise to be a warrior and hold true to do three things: 1. Clean up the corruption in the agency that I am in charge of 2. Return those same agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, and trusted evidence-based science that I knew and used at one time to make decisions on my patients. 3. Work hard and fight every day to Make America Healthy Again by ending the chronic disease epidemics. I have also worked as a staff member for many General Officers and understand the work that it takes to coordinate and maintain the chain of command. My father was an officer in the Public Health Service for 30 years and I grew up in the corps and is am well versed with their customs, traditions, and histories. However, my most important asset for President Trump is that I am not a neocon or Rhino. I have no political ambitions for future offices. I am an outsider of both politics and the National Capital Area, but my life has been dedicated to service. Even after retiring from the US Army, I ran and won political office because I still want to serve, and still believe in the greatness of America.
Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government
1) Is Competent physician and Health Care Executive who has demonstrated the grasp of the complicated medical industry and can navigate and leverage success at a wide range of levels.
2) Is Honest person who believes in the mantra "Promises made, Promises kept". My military training and career demonstrate without a doubt that I have had to make hard choices and always 110% supported the team.
3) Is Respectful to a fault. I am able to disagree without backstabbing, leaking to the press as an anonymous source. I understand my role in what ever system I am in, and take pride in riding for the brand.
4) Has Integrity to do what is right for my superiors and my team. My decisions are above reproach and are able to be aired in the light of full disclosure.
5) Has Courage to stand up for what is right, even when people are not looking. My courage is a steeled quiet courage and doesn't seek out the limelight for credit, and instead gives it to the commander in charge.
6) Has a Proven Record in preventive medicine, occupational medicine, and aerospace medicine. I also have a proven record in creating novel ideas for situations that need a different approach leading to the success of the population I serve. I am also a state politician who understands the inner-workings of government, but an outsider who is not beholden to agencies, corporations, or special intrest groups.
