Dr Takahashi leads the Takahashi Lab at the University of Texas, a world-class research center for natural circadian health. His lab discovered the circadian “clock gene” in mammals in the 1990s, confirming what many who study ancient medicine have known for centuries. Dr Takahashi has won several awards over the last many decades from around the world, such as the Gruber Neuroscience Prize in 2019 and the Sleep Research Society’s Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award in 2012.
