Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government
1) Is Competent ...I am mastered my craft in banking via applied economics & the law and in climate science via the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) certification administered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals
2) Is Honest...My glidepath to personal development is a vigorous commitment to truth. The core virtue I advocate for in my opus, Onward at Last, is to align all I do with truth validated by the wisdom of my lived experience.
3) Is Respectful ...My respect for every person and being is steeped in my realization that we each survive and thrive based on the contributions of many people we will never know.
4) Has Integrity ...When you know who you are, what your purpose is, and on what basis you are empowered to achieve fulfillment, there is no other path than one steeped in integrity.
5) Has Courage ...I am a U.S. Army veteran, a former FEMA Lead Disaster Assistance Loan Officer, a Promise Keeper who has lived my life serving causes greater than myself. In my 50s, I left a successful career as a Business Banker because I chose to answer the call of the climate crisis. I separated the signal from the noise and developed expertise in translating the climate science to financial services risk management.
6) Has a Proven Record... I had built a successful 20-year career in Commerical Banking leading up to the Financial Crash of 2008-9. In September 2008, I was a Middle Market Commercial Banker for Wachovia. When the crash hit and we were bought ultimately by Wells Fargo, I was one of 99% of the western regions bankers who were laid off by Wells Fargo. At a time when the banking industry shed about a third of all bankers, I found myself on the outside looking in. I did FDIC consulting work for a few years, obtained my life insurance license to do annuity advisory work, until I was hired by U.S. Bank in May 2016. In 6 short years, I worked my way from SBA guaranteed lending to Climate Risk Qualitative Lead in the Enterprise Risk Group. I wrote the draft and led the stakeholder approval process for the Climate Risk Management Framework for the 5th largest bank in America. I now have my own climate risk management and sustainability consulting business where I advise commercial banks how to manage climate related impacts.
