  • Dr. Angell is a medical pioneer in so many ways. She was one of the few people of her ilk to expose the pharmaceutical industry at a time when very few people were even aware of how they prioritize profit over public health often jeapardizing the latter. In 2012, I first stumbled upon a YouTube video of Dr. Angell when she presented the findings of her book, The Truth About the Drug Companies: How They Deceive Us and What to Do About It. That book is as relevant today (arguably more so) than when she published it nearly two decades ago. Unfortunately, she clearly does not care for social media, so most people have never heard of her, but please do your research! I would love to see her confirmed as US Surgeon General or in some leadership role at the national level.
