My formal education is in chemical engineering and organic chemistry, and my industry experience is in pharmaceuticals and biologics. I have worked on development through clinical and commercial manufacturing of drugs. I would like to use this biopharmaceutical knowledge to help your team sort out the negative health effects of pharmaceuticals and improve the situation.

There are too many pharmaceutical products available and used by Americans. In 1985 there were about 20 new drugs approved whereas in 2024 there will be more than 40 new drug approvals. In addition to this rapid and steady increase in drugs on the market, there has been an enormous onslaught of advertising. When you watch an average show on television, there will be on average one pharmaceutical drug commercial in each commercial break. This causes people to go to their doctor and request prescriptions, an assessment and decision which should be reserved for someone with a medical degree. On the flip side, many doctors are prescribing medication as a preventive to avoid a condition before it has even occurred rather than providing education on other lifestyle changes that could alleviate the situation.

The number of chemicals being added to processed foods is a concern. There is widespread public awareness of the availability of conventionally processed versus organic produce. However, the number of additives and preservatives added to processed food needs to be examined and brought into the public awareness light more. I would like to use my chemistry knowledge to help your team this sort out.

When my first-born child was approaching 2, the standard vaccination schedule included multiple doses of the MMR vaccine. I was aware of studies showing a link of this vaccine to autism. Since speech development was slow, I refused to allow the vaccine to be injected. This caused some headaches, one being my pediatrician refused to see me anyone. This was a blessing because it caused me to switch to a homeopathic specialist taking a more holistic approach. This child just started working after graduating in the top 5% of his class at a top 3 university. I am grateful for the outcome.
