Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government

    1) I have been practicing medicine since 1999 and had an Army scholarship for medical school. Prior to medical school, I served as an enlisted soldier in the reserves and Alabama National Guard. I also served as a GS-7 at Redstone Arsenal to help train other military OR techs. While in the National Guard, I served as Noncommissioned officer with the 195th medical hospital. Then received an dirsct commission with the Medical Service core and served as a Logistics Officer for a transportation unit and a Medical Platoon leader for and Ambulance Unit. After residency I was chosen to stay on as faculty staff for the WRAMC Physical Medicine and Rehab program where I also served time as the inpatient medical director for the amputee ward. Most recently as of July this year, I have survived aortic dissection surgery and a am overcoming a spinal stroke. My experience involves exposure to from med support to active duty resident training and research and publication, to civilian practice. I opened my Integrative Medicine practice in 2017 in the DC area and is unique because I accept all insurances except for Kaiser. The clinic offers holistic care to all patients. Adding to my unique perspective this year, I have survived aortic dissection surgery and am overcoming a spinal stroke. So I’ve had the patient experience from surgery to ICU to Acute inpatient rehabilitation and home therapy. All these experiences add to my competency to serve on Kennedy’s team to make America healthy again.
    2) Growing up in a Filipino immigrant home, I have been raised to value honesty and integrity which are core to how I conduct myself professionally and personally.
    3) I enlisted into the Army while an undergraduate student at Northwestern University to serve the country I love and start from the enlisted level to get the full military experience. This experience has instilled in me respect for the chain of command and commitment to the missions assigned, and overall working as a team player.
    4) Integrity: During my active duty time I have worked to start programs like the Amputee Therapeutic Riding program. I have also had IRB approved research trials to include the use of battlefield auricular acupuncture for phantom limb pain. My aim is to serve my patients to the best of my ability and with whatever knowledge (whether standard or alternative) to help the patient and ease their suffering.
    5) Courage: Because I am a Christ follower, it is part of the core of my being to report anything that does not line up with His standards and will cause harm to others.
    6) Has a Proven Record... The way I have practiced medicine since transitioning out of the military in 2007, integrating standard medicine with functional and eastern medicine, has shown a proven record in treating chronic symptoms and conditions where patients have not received help from the traditional medical practices and specialties. This way of practice started during my time at Walter Reed where our department was the last stop for the soldier. We either had to get them better or board them out. So thankfully they were open to a few of us getting certified in Medical Acupuncture and exploring regenerative medicine techniques. The answer to making America healthy again lies in making the system holostic and integrative.
