Agency or agencies for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:

  • Department of Homeland Security

Organization name(s) and position(s) for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:

    FEMA

Policies which the nominator knows the nominee supports or in which they have expertise:

As a prior special operations officer and Major with MARSOC, I ran several task forces as the Operations Officer including my latest deployment in 2020-2021 running Special Operations Task Force - Syria (500 personnel) . I am an expert at crisis management and running large distributed cross-functional teams and operations in highly stressful, politically sensitive and ambiguous environments. I believe that FEMA is an organization that should be ranked by the transition team as a critical target for assessment and reorganization. I believe that their leadership and authorizations process has been corrupted, and they have become a liability rather than an asset to the people of the United States. If given the opportunity and privilege to lead an assessment/efficiency team or a position within FEMA (short or long-term), my objective would be to assess the state of the organization and its authorities/processes, recommend changes and take the necessary steps to reorganize, train and equip the organization in order to meet the Commander-in-Chiefs intent by making FEMA a ready, competent, and agile organization that is prepared to meet and exceed in its duties to tackle the countrys emergencies and disasters in SUPPORT OF the States and the American people. This organization has had a horrific reputation amongst the American people for the last decade.

    Competency in Relevant Subject Areas

Through my years as a Special Operations Officer, I am intimately familiar with the rigorous demands of operating in crisis scenarios that parallel FEMA’s mission to act swiftly and effectively in emergencies. I have a strong foundation in crisis response, logistical planning, and operations management, all of which will contribute to making FEMA more responsive and competent. Additionally, I have learned through experience that the initial plan never survives first contact, and that leaders of organizations must be prepared to adapt to changing and fluid environments. This is where I excel. In my role as a Managing Partner for A2E Advisors, I provided consulting in government contracting, furthering my understanding of public sector complexities and equipping me with tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

    Honesty and Transparency

I have a proven commitment to transparency, particularly in high-stakes environments where honesty is paramount. I understand the importance of impartiality and prioritizing the public good over private interests. My experience as a leader has instilled a strong sense of accountability, where every decision is held to the highest ethical standards. In FEMA, I would prioritize open communication, transparency, and accountability to rebuild public trust and keep the agency responsive to the needs of those it serves.

    Respect for Constitutional Values

As a public servant, I hold a deep respect for the Constitution, the freedom of speech, and the right to dissent. These values were a cornerstone of my career in the military and have been essential in my work fostering collaboration among diverse groups. FEMA’s mission requires leaders who respect and uphold these fundamental rights, particularly in times of crisis when tensions are high. I am committed to leading with respect for these freedoms and creating an environment where collaboration and constructive dissent are encouraged.

    Integrity and Public Service Orientation

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to serving the public and upholding the values of integrity and accountability. My role at MARSOC required making critical decisions in the best interest of my team and the communities we supported. Similarly, in an executive role within FEMA, I would always prioritize the public good, ensuring that FEMA’s actions align with the needs and expectations of the American people, rather than any corporate or special interests.

    Courage and Whistleblower Protection

As a leader, I believe in accountability and am unafraid to address issues or bring attention to practices that betray the public’s trust. In both my military and consulting careers, I have demonstrated the courage to take a stand, address challenges head-on, and advocate for transparency. At FEMA, I would foster an environment where employees feel empowered to voice concerns without fear of retribution, strengthening the agency’s internal accountability and external reputation.

    Proven Record of Delivering Results

My record of driving results is grounded in years of leading large, distributed teams and managing high-risk operations. As a Special Operations Officer, I ensured the safety and success of my teams, consistently delivering mission-critical outcomes even in the most challenging environments. I have also managed complex business development and operational initiatives in the private sector, achieving measurable improvements in efficiency and strategic alignment. I am confident that my experience in achieving positive results, even in adverse conditions, would contribute to FEMA’s success in meeting its objectives and rebuilding public confidence.

In summary, my background in crisis response, government contracting, and organizational leadership aligns closely with FEMA’s goals to increase efficiency, reduce bureaucracy, and restore public trust. I am deeply committed to serving the interests of the American people, guided by a focus on transparency, integrity, and operational excellence. I am eager for the opportunity to bring these qualities to FEMA, enhancing its ability to respond effectively to the challenges of today and tomorrow.
