    Shahrukh Nasim is an American scientist, writer, and environmentalist. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Industrial/Energy Engineering at the University of Tennessee and finished his masters recently at Georgetown University concentrating in environmental science and chemistry. In his previous work, Shahrukh has worked for World Wildlife Fund, Library of Congress, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Department of Energy.

    Currently, Shahrukh works for the Federal Aviation Administration as a Consultant. He has also served as a youth delegate for the World Bank, as a national council chair for the United Nations Associations, as a youth ambassador of Global Peace Chain, and as a utility working fellow for the American Nuclear Society. Shahrukh was a Harvard Business CORe Scholar in Boston and selected as the top 100 emerging environmental leaders by former Vice President Al Gore with his nonprofit Climate Reality in Atlanta, Georgia.

    In 2019, Shahrukh was selected as a bronze medal finalist for the Congressional Award in honor of his community contributions in Virginia’s 8th congressional district and the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Shahrukh was also selected as a social innovation fellow for StartingBloc in the New York City, 2019 Cohort. He is very passionate about renewable energy, climate change, the environment, and mental health. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, and hiking the Appalachian Trail.
