I support and have expertise in issues relating to food and drug safety conflicts of interests and underlying science. I have been a scientist in physics, biology, and medicine. I have been an expert computer programmer/designer, and information technology manager and executive, and law. We need a stategic plan and look at and evaluate the causes of the issues our society faces as it relates to our overall health.
Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government
My journey has been long and complex but resulted in many successes that show my competence. I left home at 14 years of age; we were very poor. I put myself through high school and then Reed College. By the age of 22, I passed my Physics and molecular genetics thesis with orals (published on file with Reed College) and had researched, analyzed data and wrote three published medical papers with Dr. Kaluza.
I switched to engiereering where I developed medical equipment prototypes and then was invited to be a founder of the computer-telephony integration industry, resulting being awarded the Blue Chip Enterprise Award as Oregons top designee; a national business award.
Later I was invited into IT Infrastructure management and leadership. I managed global voice and data infrastructure for VeriFone, then HP, and Agilent. This included splitting HPs voice and data infrastructure in creating Agilent Technologies, Inc. involving over a billion dollars of services and equipment, and both large and small organizations throughout the globe.
Finally, I became a lawyer after my involvement in the Vaccine Safety Datalink program and the resulting fallout. As a board-certified lawyer, I have a specialist designation that less than 1% of attorneys obtain. I am also a legal scholar, and have extensive civil trial and appellate experience. My appellate experience includes the Supreme Court of Texas. I am admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States.
I have excelled and published in multiple fields and industries which is an indication of my flexibility and breadth of knowledge and skill. I have managed both small and large organzations/projects in functions that required technical and non-techinical proficiency.
Advocating for safer food and drugs has been a passion. I am the father of a severely autistic child that I raised; Autism is only one of many quickly growing conditions that plague our society. Only accurate science that is free of corruption and conflicts of interest can actually help the victims of conditions that now plague our society.
I have worked in science, I have worked in business both small and large, and I have worked in law... the latter mostly so I could be in a position to make a difference. As a lawyer, I am faced with ethical issues and candor on a regular basis; critical to those issues is keeping confidences that underlies the integrity of the profession. And on occassion: knowing when and how you may or must break a confidence as mandated by law or conscience. Most importantly, I am a strategic thinker so have the ability to implement solutions of policy and across organizations.
I will have to supplement my list of publications and resume. I do not have them available via url at this time. Please let me know how I can help.
