Since Discourse was designed for discussion of topics, not people, there are a few tricks to find nominees of interest for a given topic area:
A) To discover new nominees that the “people” (or themselves) have nominated:
- First, click on Nominees in the upper left hand corner of the navigation bar
- Then, on the left below the search bar, click on Categories. Go to the topical category of interest to the role you are seeking to fill among the following 12 categories:
- Health
- Environment and Natural Resources
- Food and Agriculture
- Peace Abroad (State, Defense, Intelligence)
- Peace at Home (Justice, Security, and Immigration)
- Education
- Energy and Infrastructure
- Economy
- Labor
- Housing
- Technology
- Government Efficiency
- Note that the Nomination Form did require the selection of only ONE category, so some good nominees for your category may be listed in a different category. You can also find nominees by selecting NO category and just searching for the agency of interest by typing it in by the unique words (avoiding generic words like department), like “Health and Human Services”
https://discourse.nomineesforthepeople.com/tag/department-of-health-and-human-services
Or “National Transportation Safety Board”
https://discourse.nomineesforthepeople.com/tag/national-transportation-safety-board
Nominators were not required to include an agency (nor “organizations” within those agencies like FDA, NIH or CDC within the HHS agency), so what you see on that search is just the people whose self or other nominations selected that agency.
B) To find useful nomination information from the public on a particular nominee:
Type their last name into the search bar and hit enter (not “search nominee” which will take you to advanced search where you have to retype their last name). Note that all nominees have red font lettering - while site users have other colors in their names.
There are ten types of public information you will see in a Nomination Profile, though most nominators did not answer all of these optional questions:
- Bio:
- Resume or CV:
- Writing or Publications
- Website:
- Video:
- Socials:
- Agency or agencies for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:
- Organization name(s) and position(s) for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:
- Policies which the nominator knows the nominee supports or in which they have expertise:
- Nominator’s thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government
To find additional information on the nominees, go to the links provided or read the replies to the nominee’s original profile.
Note: If multiple nominators nominated the same person and used slightly different names, such as including their middle initial or credentials, it shows up as separate nominations. Merging them into one is a manual process some of the site volunteers are handling.
