    The US government has needed an overhaul for years, but this exciting new administration has the capacity to restore America’s place as a beacon of hope for the world, and I am eager to participate in this process.

    While pursuing my counterterrorism degree, one day I asked my professor, “Sir, if we’re not defending the Constitution, what are we doing?” With furrowed brow, he replied, “I don’t know, Melissa.”

    One driver of my recent run for US Representative was knowing that, if I were in office in 2019, I could have prevented our catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan. I understood the dynamics of the conflict, as well as a problem with the US Envoy.

    To achieve peace through strength we must have the freedom to speak openly about forces working against our country and others in the world. This cannot be done while tiptoeing on politically correct eggshells. Facts must matter more than feelings. That is why Americans find President Trump’s frankness so appealing!

    I conducted my graduate research throughout Europe and got to know many French and British conservatives. Back then, the New America Foundation was importing hundreds of thousands of jihadis into Europe, where they launched a wave of violence against peoples cowed by political correctness. The current Administration has poured gasoline on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. I look forward to working with the Trump Administration and our allies to restore European tranquility and prosperity.

    I also conducted research on the long conflict in Sri Lanka. As such, I understand how “divide and conquer” racism narratives were exploited in recent years to weaken America.

    During my graduate research, I uncovered actions taken by my US Representative for CA-36 which were supportive of extremist ideological groups and our nation’s enemies. My dossier on his conflicts of interest continued to grow, and in 2024, I ran against him.

    This righteous new administration has been compared to the X-Men and the Justice League. Well, this is the league for me! Include Toomim on Team Trump. You will be glad you did.

    I met Melissa Toomim when she attended conferences I organized for business leaders, law enforcement personnel and security professionals on the subject of Political Islam in the Workplace in 2017 (French Army, Navy and Air Force Officers’ Club) and 2018 (Congressional Auditorium, French Senate). Melissa is a hard working, straight talking, lucid and fearless patriot devoted to defending the U.S. Constitution and the values of Western civilization from the myriad threats posed by internationl Jihad, political Islam, Socialism and woke ideology. Her powerful intellect and international experience would be valuable assets to the Trump administration and I wholeheartedly recommend her.

    I have been working very closely with Melissa’s campaign for Congress and served as her volunteer coordinator. I experienced her dedication to Leadership, which she embraced with humility. She never asked our many volunteers to do anything she was not doing herself. She was attentive to the issues that were directly affecting the community and came up with creative legislative solutions. I believe she could best for this new administration in either diplomatic or intelligence work.

    I have known Melissa Toomim most of our lives. We lost track of each other but reunited at a class reunion in 2011. While I have always been a Conservative, Melissa was a Democrat at the time we reunited; however, only a few years passed before she fully embraced Conservatism and has been very actively pursuing ways to contribute, including a run for Congress in the last 2 elections winning her primary in 2024 and making it into the general election in November in CA-36. She truly jumped in with both feet like no one I’ve ever seen – Melissa doesn’t just talk the talk; she walks the walk!

    Melissa possesses a deep knowledge and understanding of the areas of the globe that are beacons of extremist terrorism and organizations intent on the spread of political Islam and international jihad. She is also familiar with numerous communist organizations and the methods they have been employing over many years to destabilize America.

    With a Master’s degree in International Policy Management / Nonproliferation and Terrorism, Melissa is committed to working in whatever capacity she can to achieve peace through strength goals. Melissa has been disturbed by the open border policies of the current administration and some of the people and activities she has personally observed in the last 8 months, fearing our country is at real risk to terrorist attacks within our borders.

    Melissa is fully committed to the Trump Administration and would be an outstanding and valued asset. Melissa possesses strong analytical intellect and innovative creativity of ideas.     Letter of Recommendation for Melissa Toomim

    As someone who has known Melissa in the capacity of both friend and Congressional Candidate supporter and contributor for the past four years, I can say four things about her: she is intelligent, well organized, thinks effectively on her feet, and is a natural leader.

    I make this observation using not only my own work experience and education within in the sciences where I was both a Programs Manager and Scientist in the Aerospace industry, but also as a leader in Southern California within the California Republican Party (as LA County -61st AD Central Committee Chair), leader in the California Republican Assembly, Lincoln Clubs, Republican Jewish Coalition, Jewish Republican Assembly, LA City Neighborhood Council System, and more.

    Melissa communicates well with others. She incorporates her foreign affairs/ educational background training into real world ideas. Plus, she has demonstrated her research talents by developing effective communication projects throughout her recent Congressional campaign.

    Melissa is a solid ally for common sense around the world. I had the pleasure of working to get her campaign message out by creating a podcast and YouTube series in support of her uphill campaign in the 36th California Congressional district against a powerhouse incumbent. @toomim4congress625
    Her understanding of international conflict especially in the Middle East and the terrorist threat within the USA is highly developed and sourced. But her extraordinary sensitivity to the underrepresented viewpoints of Gen Z and LGBT issues was what I found the most inspiring and sophisticated.
    She is a true leader and inspired many volunteers in an entirely on-the-ground campaign, engaging people across west Los Angeles county to have a frank and honest conversation about many of the wrong turns the country is taking and the course correction that is needed.

    If you’ve ever had the chance to work with Melissa, you know she’s the kind of person who makes things happen. During our time collaborating on various projects, she consistently demonstrated a level of professionalism, creativity, and commitment that’s hard to come by.

    Melissa has an incredible ability to adapt to new challenges while staying organized and focused. Whether we were managing complex schedules, brainstorming innovative ideas, or executing tasks under tight deadlines, she was always one step ahead. Her positivity and natural leadership style made her a go-to person for both guidance and motivation.

    Recommendation for Melissa Toomim by Dr. Nayereh Khankhanian.

    I met Melissa Toomim several years ago, when we were both campaign volunteers for James Bradley, who was running for House of Representative - District CA33 (now District CA36).

    I encouraged her to run and introduced her to prominent members of the Los Angeles Jewish Persian Community. In 2024, she ran for Congress against Ted Lieu, in District 36.

    I am a retired physician. I immigrated to the USA from Iran in1970 in pursuit of a medical subspecialty in Surgical Oncology Pathology /Cancer Diagnosis at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Thereafter, I studied at MD Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston, Texas. I joined the US Army Medical Corps and, after a 25-year active duty and reservist career, retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and joined a partnership with Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group, from which I retired in 2020. I now serve as Vice President of the West Los Angeles chapter of the California Republican Assembly (“WLARA”), an organization which I was instrumental in establishing for the purpose of helping and promoting our conservative candidates.

    Melissa is an intelligent, sharp, smart and charming woman. She is a great communicator and a hardworking conservative. She worked relentlessly, every day on her campaign, knocking on hundreds of doors and talking to thousands of voters. She spoke publicly at numerous synagogues, Republican Assembly District Committees and other organizations, where she presented her conservative platform, while also effectively reaching Democrats and Independents.

    Melissa’s background in Investigative Journalism and her education in International Policy Management make her an excellent candidate for work in national security and intelligence.

    Recommendation for Melissa Toomim:

    I am a former Professor of Melissa’s in the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies Program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. When I first met Melissa, she had already spent years defending the rights of women in Afghanistan and exposing the baleful influence of the Pakistani intelligence service, the ISI, in supporting Islamist groups in Afghanistan. Hence, she was already aware of the nature of Islamism, not only its theocratic agenda and its horrendous human rights violations, but its larger threat to civil society, both in the Muslim world and elsewhere. After taking several courses with me, she produced an eye-opening honor’s thesis delineating the activities of Muslim Brotherhood front groups operating within the U.S. Melissa has always been an intelligent person, a hard worker, an effective communicator, and someone who is passionate about resisting threats to the security of the U.S. Like many American citizens, she was a longtime liberal Democrat who felt that the Democrat party had abandoned its core values, including its concern for the working and lower middle classes, and who thus shifted her support to Trump in 2016. Since then, she has run for office as a GOP candidate in Southern California, while continuing to pay attention to the activities of Islamist networks operating in the U.S. If you are interested in hiring a dedicated person for the security component of HHS, she would be an excellent candidate because of her familiarity with different varieties of extremism and terrorism. Hence, I would strongly recommend her for such a position.
