The President’s cabinet and key appointments cannot have split loyalties nor be distracted by other countries priorities. An America First agenda needs government officials whose sole interests rest with the United States. Dual citizens under consideration for appointment to the President’s inner circle or a position of influence in our government, should renounce citizenship in all other countries.

Not if you’re wanting to hold an elected or appointed position.

I agree 100%. Further, no one in any public government office as a politician or employee should be a dual national. This includes city, county, state and federal employees and contractors. Dual nationals are a national security risk. Full stop.

I’d agree except a lot of countries bestow citizenship via Ius Sanguinis, so it’s hardly someone’s fault if their parents registered them with their Embassy as a child so they could have their parent’s citizenship.

I’d refine this to specify it should be the case if the person acquired said citizenship after their 18th birthday or something around those lines. Meaning - when it shows a weakening in their patriotic spirit, or a split loyalty. Also there could be a clause to publicly renounce other citizenships before taking office.

ALSO this would be a great policy proposal.

This is a very necessary requirement.

I agree with no dual citizenship in any of our government positions or any of our institutions. This is totally against what our founding fathers set up. This is where it gets really messy with our constitution because the founding fathers were Christians and these other foreign nationals won’t even put their hand on a Bible and swear in they wanna bring their own Bible and swear on that. We are done with that. That is not who we are. This is how countries are stolen and compromised. Beware.

I don’t agree with this. There are a bunch of American citizens without dual citizenship that speak negatively about our country and foster hatred and division. Those people should not be next to our president.

What we need at the highest levels of government are people that love our country and want to see it succeed. People that put America first and that put Americans first! Why should someone like Elon Musk have to renounce his citizenship in his country of origin so that he can continue to help propel America forward?

I hear where you are coming from in that you want to ensure America first loyalty, but I think this approach is misguided and is an extreme strategy that can do more harm than good.

My great grandfather’s citizenship application required him to renounce any loyalty to the queen of England. In what decade did single loyalty stop being valued in America? 1950s??

Should be that anyone who wants to run for political office in the United States, MUST relinquish any citizenship to a foreign country. NO DUAL CITIZENSHIP!
