Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government
I think now is the time for unity, and while he is a staunch democrat, he has done good and seems like a competent and honest politician with common sense ideas. Having popular democrats in the administration will serve to unite the country especially if they have good ideas.
The Department under Buttigieg’s leadership has been incredibly slow to react to train derailments, a record number of incidents concerning air traffic control and flight safety in general, as well as supply chain slow-downs and stoppages. I absolutely hope that he would not be considered for further service in this Administration.
The job performance of Mr Buttigieg as Secretary of Transportation and his praise and support of the Biden/Harris policies (many of which could easily be argued to be treasonous) should immediately disqualify him for any position in the new administration.
This is a step down too far for a person that was a lighting rod and controversial player in the previous administration. His presence would only serve as a distraction and road block to the effective management and direction of the department. Regardless of his politics, having a former Secretary in this position would be a detriment to the management of the agency. Hard pass.
This guy should serve NO Where in the Trump administration! Paternity leave while Americans where hurting! Baby food shortages! East Palestine Ohio. Nothing but failures!!
How did Pete get on this list? Did someone actually nominate him? I’m new here, but I thought it was just for potential hires to improve our government.
Honestly - Pete was one of the few people to consistently show up on Fox News and other conservative media outlets. He’s bright, well articulated, and I believe is one of the best from the Democratic Party. Im sure whoever did this nomination may have done it as a joke, but what a crazy headline it would be to have Trump picking RFK Jr to lead Health and Pete to lead infrastructure (as long as regulatory reforms are in place so these projects can actually get done - which he actually has talked about needing to do as well).
