strong textPlease stop the Corn over doses in animal feed and human foods. NO ONE can digest corn, it’s a starch and is not necessary whatsoever. Most all these corns are GMO-ed and sprayed with their round up poisons. Speaking of which, BAN ALL poisons, chemicals, sprays and the poo poo watering of our food ( crops)
what are you going to replace it with? you are talking millions of tons of food!
The point is that its not food.
Yes, I agree the genetically modified organisms, along with RoundUp the human body is damaged. The microbiome is being destroyed by the substitution for glycine, and RoundUp glysophate replaces it. It starts tearing up the genetic code and microbiome and or immune system. All the pesticides should be banned since they have to keep adding more and more to where the land is polluting the air and water. The poo in the water is due to municipalities’ failure to sanitize the sewage systems. It is from e-coli-infected material that goes down the drain to companies dumping prohibited materials. The question was not if it’s food or not. The question is what do we replace it with to feed chickens, and other farm animals?
I already make sure our dogs and cats don’t get corn or soy, but not sure what to do about the chicken food.
But it’s POISON, not food. Your comment is crazy.
So farmers cannot afford to grow and stop growing crops and we all starve. We need a plan not another thoughtless remedy with huge side effects just to make people instantly happy. You people have no idea how small profits are for farming. There used to be over 5 million farmers in the USA. Now there are barely 200,000 nationwide. And the count is rapidly shrinking! Because they can’t make money!
Sigh. First. No, not all corn is GMO. Get a seed magazine and look. They all tell you that they don’t offer GMO to home gardeners. You will also see many varieties of corn.
Next. No, I don’t spray corn with Roundup or pesticides. Roundup would kill it. I’m not required to buy or use any specific seeds.
Third. Poo poo water? I’m a 5th generation ranch kid. We have access to river water. You… Don’t want me to use… The water… Right next to the crops?
Maaaaaaybe you should look at what’s being put in the river UPSTREAM by the city. Hmmm?
Good grief. Please go to the farmers market and ask basic questions and LISTEN to what the producers tell you. Ok?
Also. The cattle are pasture raised. It’s a lot easier to let cows wander around and eat plants for their 4 stomachs, than to buy corn and feed them that their entire life.
Sincerely, the ‘uneducated’ ‘illiterate’ ‘garbage’ that spent 40 years living and learning these things, master gardener, small range management, ag business, producer.
Finally, someone who understands these things and not someone crying about something they know nothing about, if GMOs are a person’s biggest concern, they’re really showing their privilege
It is a great question to ask what will replace the corn. The discussion should be focused on how we can at least begin blending something with the corn that has nutritional value. Algea might be worth taking a look at.
ALGEA is an excellent way to feed animals and humans.
Next time you are in a family gathering, pick out the ones you want to starve to death because if you get your way, half of the world population would starve to death within a year.
