Agency or agencies for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:
Organization name(s) and position(s) for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:
K-12 or the reformation of the agency to a research-based entity (much smaller) that could also build model schools like The School House to show states and communities what a new American school can look like...
Policies which the nominator knows the nominee supports or in which they have expertise:
Two very important things:
The building of a school (Pre-K through 8th grade) where all the relevant evidence about how children learn is implemented in an interconnected curriculum that aligns with development stages and is child-first. There is no curriculum of its kind in the United States that does this. Mimosa working with 36 Educators over 12 years developed this 1,000 page document that combines the best of pedagogical science with what we used to love about American schools. The School House has used it in practicum for 6 years. We have an open-door, transparent policy and when people visit, they fall over. They cannot believe such a thing exists and wonder why it isn't in every town in America.
Second, her keen knowledge and expertise on the subject that is based in evidence. She tackles any news program or adversary of the child. She is incredible to watch as a mentor and boss. She has never been paid for her work and has put millions of her own money into the research and the school. Mimosa demanded that it be for working families, that we raise the flag every morning, that Educators feel so good that they never leave or gossip. She is inspirational. Every problem listed, she fixed (or is fixing)...down to not calling it Administration. It's Headquarters at The School House and we are in service of the Educator, Parent and Learner.
Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government
1) Is Competent ... I've been in education for over 20 years. I've never seen anyone take on those who do not understand the 0-12 child like Mimosa. She never stops, is versed in all pedagogical science (became trained in several of them just to not take flack from anyone) and understands the big picture. She started in politics and became a writer and so has been in the fire many times. I've also seen her approach every problem with 'what is best for the child'. I don't know a single other person I've seen do that. She single-handedly compiled the American Emergent Curriculum over 10 years with experts across the country.
2) Is Honest... Schools have always been non-transparent and that is what has killed trust in them (that and a lot of other things). She is completely transparent and even when I warned her about this, she forged ahead. Anyone can read the curriculum, she updates Parents daily and weekly, she even let's the Team see the budget and we are in on all the operations of the school. I think she really loves telling the truth and seeing reactions.
3) Is Respectful ... I think she is sometimes too respectful. I'll come in and tell people (I keep her schedule) that she doesn't have time for a reporter or something because she writes a lot. She always takes the call or the request. For her it is about getting the word out about what is truly ruining our country: our inability to really see the child and give them what they need to learn and become productive, happy Americans.
4) Has Integrity ... Her requirement for the school when she opened it was "no gossip, no politics". She saw through her years of work, that gossip creates a toxic work and learning environment for children. I couldn't believe it, but early on she parted ways with two teachers on the spot mid-year. The second, no politics - because she saw what was happening and felt really strongly that a school is for learning not indoctrination.
5) Has Courage ... Mimosa could be playing tennis all day living a relaxing stay-at-home life. I've never seen more of a patriot work 24/7 for over 10 years without ever wanting thanks or celebration. She just wants children to have the very best environment and she knows how to give it to them, to inspire an entire Team daily, to bring parents fully onboard, to put people kindly in their place and to battle the status quo. She is a fighter and never gives up. It's really quite remarkable to be around her. I told her the first month I worked for her... "I never want to work for anyone else."
6) Has a Proven Record... The School House. 140 children from all walks of life, working families, poor, IEPs - like your typical public elementary school today. Except, we test at 2x the national average - through the roof - and there is only one test a year, no teaching to it. She invented something called Socratic Quizzing. Where children create and then take the quizzes peers have created. We have no mental health issues... zero. Even kids with PTSD fully transition and are finally happy in their young lives. Communities have seen the school and have opened their own School Houses in Vero Beach and Orlando and Miami coming in 2026. By every measure she has succeeded in creating a new American school model - not reforming the same old thing - but something that is in a different, 21st century category. She now launched The Little House for toddlers opening January 2025. Not that this is quantitative, but I get calls from parents on snow days - messages saying their child wants to come into school. Beyond.
