Agency or agencies for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:

  • Department of Education

Organization name(s) and position(s) for which nominator feels nominee is best suited:

K-12 or the reformation of the agency to a research-based entity (much smaller) that could also build model schools like The School House to show states and communities what a new American school can look like...

Policies which the nominator knows the nominee supports or in which they have expertise:

    Two very important things:

The building of a school (Pre-K through 8th grade) where all the relevant evidence about how children learn is implemented in an interconnected curriculum that aligns with development stages and is child-first. There is no curriculum of its kind in the United States that does this. Mimosa working with 36 Educators over 12 years developed this 1,000 page document that combines the best of pedagogical science with what we used to love about American schools. The School House has used it in practicum for 6 years. We have an open-door, transparent policy and when people visit, they fall over. They cannot believe such a thing exists and wonder why it isn't in every town in America.

Second, her keen knowledge and expertise on the subject that is based in evidence. She tackles any news program or adversary of the child. She is incredible to watch as a mentor and boss. She has never been paid for her work and has put millions of her own money into the research and the school. Mimosa demanded that it be for working families, that we raise the flag every morning, that Educators feel so good that they never leave or gossip. She is inspirational. Every problem listed, she fixed (or is fixing)...down to not calling it Administration. It's Headquarters at The School House and we are in service of the Educator, Parent and Learner.

Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government

    1) Is Competent ... I've been in education for over 20 years. I've never seen anyone take on those who do not understand the 0-12 child like Mimosa. She never stops, is versed in all pedagogical science (became trained in several of them just to not take flack from anyone) and understands the big picture. She started in politics and became a writer and so has been in the fire many times. I've also seen her approach every problem with 'what is best for the child'. I don't know a single other person I've seen do that. She single-handedly compiled the American Emergent Curriculum over 10 years with experts across the country.
    2) Is Honest... Schools have always been non-transparent and that is what has killed trust in them (that and a lot of other things). She is completely transparent and even when I warned her about this, she forged ahead. Anyone can read the curriculum, she updates Parents daily and weekly, she even let's the Team see the budget and we are in on all the operations of the school. I think she really loves telling the truth and seeing reactions.
    3) Is Respectful ... I think she is sometimes too respectful. I'll come in and tell people (I keep her schedule) that she doesn't have time for a reporter or something because she writes a lot. She always takes the call or the request. For her it is about getting the word out about what is truly ruining our country: our inability to really see the child and give them what they need to learn and become productive, happy Americans.
    4) Has Integrity ... Her requirement for the school when she opened it was "no gossip, no politics". She saw through her years of work, that gossip creates a toxic work and learning environment for children. I couldn't believe it, but early on she parted ways with two teachers on the spot mid-year. The second, no politics - because she saw what was happening and felt really strongly that a school is for learning not indoctrination.
    5) Has Courage ... Mimosa could be playing tennis all day living a relaxing stay-at-home life. I've never seen more of a patriot work 24/7 for over 10 years without ever wanting thanks or celebration. She just wants children to have the very best environment and she knows how to give it to them, to inspire an entire Team daily, to bring parents fully onboard, to put people kindly in their place and to battle the status quo. She is a fighter and never gives up. It's really quite remarkable to be around her. I told her the first month I worked for her... "I never want to work for anyone else."
    6) Has a Proven Record... The School House. 140 children from all walks of life, working families, poor, IEPs - like your typical public elementary school today. Except, we test at 2x the national average - through the roof - and there is only one test a year, no teaching to it. She invented something called Socratic Quizzing. Where children create and then take the quizzes peers have created. We have no mental health issues... zero. Even kids with PTSD fully transition and are finally happy in their young lives. Communities have seen the school and have opened their own School Houses in Vero Beach and Orlando and Miami coming in 2026. By every measure she has succeeded in creating a new American school model - not reforming the same old thing - but something that is in a different, 21st century category. She now launched The Little House for toddlers opening January 2025. Not that this is quantitative, but I get calls from parents on snow days - messages saying their child wants to come into school. Beyond.

  • So honored to be able to share this incredible American project with the country…a model of what school can and will be if we put all our efforts here.

I’ve been a School House parent since the day Mimosa opened the doors, and I am eternally grateful that my son has had the opportunity to grow and develop in an environment that has genuinely lived up to it’s promise to “put the child first”. After 6 years I still get chills whenever Mimosa speaks about her passion for the evolution of education and the shared mission to make transformative educational opportunities available to families from all walks of life. I am honored to be part of this community and excited to support Mimosa as she pioneers this new chapter in American education.

As a former VP of Marketing at Nickelodeon, a top Kids & Family brand, I have been in the presence smart, informed people. In the first five minutes of meeting Mimosa, I decided two things.

    1. She is a visionary. The REAL deal. She has dedicated her life to creating the new American school and in doing so, she has created a mission that can unite the world because we ALL want better for our kids - no matter what side of the aisle you are on.

    2. I have to work for her. Because it is rare to be in the presence of true genius that is also combined with incredible kindness.

Mimosa needs a seat at this table.

Our children have the chance at the future we all want for them. A life of success, happiness and being incredible human beings. VOTE!

When we toured The School House with my son two years ago, it immediately captivated us and my son’s words were “Mom this school speaks to me.” After 9 years in the public school system and all the inequities that came with it, this was a breath of fresh air and a necessary change for my son. It is a necessary change for all children. As an educator and administrator myself, I know just how important it is to put the children first. Mimosa created a warm, diverse, transparent and trusting school culture. Here, the students lead their learning and are enriched in deep discussions and experiences embedded in collaboration among learners and educators. This will have a huge impact on their lives outside of the school’s walls. This is what education is all about; preparing the youth for the future, by encouraging inquiry, critical thought and collaboration, in order to be contributing members of society. In many schools across the United States, children are not afforded these necessary real life experiences to help shape their future. Thank you Mimosa for your amazing mind, vision, hard work and dedication to the children of this country!!!

Thank you so very much for this comment. Children need not just a seat at the table, but at the head of the table. They are the customers!

Working in Education for the last 20+ years, I recognize how rare it is to meet someone who genuinely puts the needs of the child first. Mimosa is someone who not only speaks about what needs to change, she puts action behind her words. Building TSH allowed for a School to exist that puts the needs of the Learner first, and gives them a hands-on Education that does not exist anywhere else. She created the American Emergent Curriculum, which is a beautifully written curriculum that not only exceeds NY standards, but enables Educators to teach children in a way that gets them excited, is interactive, strengthens both their confidence and independence, while creating a tone in a classroom that is calm and inspiring.
Mimosa is the individual that you want representing what is needed in Education. She is a mother herself, so is able to understand the importance of a child’s needs, both as an Educator and as a Parent. Mimosa is a kind, well-respected and genuine soul, so anyone who is fortunate enough to work with her or for her, will be that much better of a person.

Each Educator and Learner are given every possible tool to make this happen. She treats each of the Educators with such dignity, respect and care where no idea is ever stifled. Her mantra is “let’s explore that idea and make it the best it can be to enhance the lesson”. She is focused on researching and exploring everything while increasing the learning potential of each and every Learner and Educator. She doesn’t just “talk the talk” she makes it happen AND sees it through!
