Nina Teicholz, PhD has been a beacon of light even in the face of adversity from the status quo. Her work is seminal in my field of food and health. She has identified and spoken out against corporate conflict wherever it has surfaced, and she has been fearless in helping us all become better educated on the science and the politics of the current food-health system.
Excellent choice. Policy driven by real facts not by industries desire.
Her book on Fats was eye opening. She will most likely need to have body guards.
Nina’s expertise in our nation’s food guidelines is to be sought-after! She has a complete working knowledge of its history, conflicts of interest, and lobbyist’s influence. She WOULD BE AMONG THE TOP people for this nomination!!! Thank you.
I would definitely like to see Nina put in a position where she can help connect dots for those in charge of research/education about nutrition health.
She literally wrote the book on the problems with the ‘research’ that informed prior misguided guidance from government.
And she’s already moved huge numbers of people, at a grassroots level, to participate in government processes by contributing feedback when opportunities arose. These folks were able to get their recommended way of eating (WOE) at least mentioned in a new government document – but unfortunately, that document also included the pretence that its writer(s) had searched for topic-relevant research but found none. (Despite the same body having reported on substantial topic-relevant research in the past.)
Nina would know who to go to and where to point, regarding flaws in the nutritional research on which current guidelines are based. And she’s clearly motivated across time to work to improve the quality of nutrition research/education for the sake of Americans and the world.
Nina would be an awesome job to help reform the dietary guidelines. She has been working on this issue for 10 years and wrote a book called the big fat surprise which exposes the whole corruption of the dietary guidelines and why we have gotten so fat and unhealthy.
Nina is a hero. She is not one to seek power. Yet if chosen she WILL take the mantle and ice-break the way forward.
The best leaders are those - like Nina - who are thrown to the fore - not those seeking it. I believe Nina’s appointment would dramatically improve our nation’s health.
Nina is by far the most competent candidate for the job. She has absolutely all the credentials and nobody else comes close. This could be a game changer for the US of America. Let’s MAHA with Nina!!! She’s the one!!!
Ms Teicholz has already achieved a lot on the front lines of nutrition reform.
She took on the corruption and lack of evidence based recommendation of the DGA.
She exposed the issues of conflict of interest underlying some of the more pernicious recommendations such as the replacement of a large proportion of calories with seed oils and carbohydrates.
Her courage, journalistic integrity and depth of research are legendary in the healthy food community.
“Nina’s book " Big Fat Surprise “has already been referenced by RFK as being a " must read” for everyone interested in health and diet. I am a T2 diabetic, I was diagnosed in 2016 and that is when I first started my journey into understanding the links between food, food like products and health. Her book opened my eyes, and I have followed her ever since. I have met her on numerous occasions and always been impressed by her commitment to the science. I have found her unswerving in her desire to uphold the highest standards of integrity and truth. During the last few years I have witnessed at first hand her efforts to try to help individuals understand what constitutes a healthy diet and what the science says when one strips away the propaganda. Nina has a powerful presence, backed by an encyclopaedic knowledge of both the science and the political process that has gone into the development of the dietary guidelines for Americans. She also has a clear understanding of the critical importance of getting the dietary guidelines to reflect the best possible science and ensure that the institutions which then use them to influence the food environment in all spheres of life, from schools, through to hospitals, prisons and the military must receive scientifically valid information, not information that has been “spun” to meet the goals of those with commercial interests. Nina is already well known for her efforts to make those developing the guidelines accountable for the advice given and only give advice that truly is science backed. I said I was T2 diabetic. I found out on the same day that I was diagnosed with severe diabetes in 2016 that this condition could be controlled / even reversed simply through dietary changes, I also found out that to do so one had to actively ignore the US dietary guidelines and practically all its content. I have been a diet controlled, no drugs, T2 diabetic since 2016, despite a starting Hba1C of 10.3 which is horrific. My Hba1C has remained at non-diabetic levels for 7 years now and I am the healthiest I have ever been. It was quite simple and everyone with T2 diabetes could do it within about 6 months if only the government would put its weight behind how to do it. Nina is extremely well positioned to help RFK’s meet his goal of meaningfully improving the health of a significant portion of the American public, and particularly its children within one term. Nina has extensive connections with professionals and individuals doing exactly that worldwide. Her involvement in your process would be a significant asset to MAHA. If you look at why did so many democrats come out in support of Trump this is the precise reason. We were all waiting with bated breath to see if the promise would translate into reality that the government would finally respond to the increasingly vociferous calls for change. Nina could make that change happen. Please include her in your team at the highest possible level.
Nina has been a leader for so many in the diabetic realm because of her nutritional expertise. The late Sarah Hallberg who was a founding MD at Virta Health (the first online diabetic clinic for type 2 diabetes which is listed as one of the top startups many years by New York Times) would be in 100% support of Nina to serve at the FDA.
Nina shares and carries the torch of Dr. Hallberg’s vision and has dedicated her life to improving nutrition by presenting the science. She has already helped improve the health of millions through her dietary education.
If she had a seat at the FDA table this would truly be the change we have so desperately needed and would serve as the foundation to truly making America healthy again.
After seeing Dr after Dr, test after test. I started my own path to health and wellness. Researching on YouTube, I watched Nina present at some seminar and it completely changed my life.
I went from debilitating migraines, to healthy as a horse with in 6 months.
I read the big fat surprise and I was left stunned at how the information the government provides is flat out wrong.
Nina deserves a seat at the table. Her voice will help lead a generation of good health.
Nina Teicholz saved my life and restored Joy in Practice for me when I learned about the ten key landmark nutrition trials in her book didn’t support the official low fat dogma. Following a low carb lifestyle emphasizing animal based foods has allowed me to lose and keep off 25 pounds of excess weight, attain metabolic health, and become an Ironman. I now help patients reverse their diabetes and lose weight sustainably by simply eating whole nutritious foods rather than hyper-palatable processed foods designed to create food addiction rather than optimizing health.
Nina’s book The Big Fat Surprise was a major health-changing read for my husband and I. Her subsequent work on behalf of healthy nutritional guidelines and ongoing exposure of bad, manipulated and conflict-ridden nutritional science is outstanding and courageous. I strongly urge you to give her serious consideration, I can’t imagine anyone better for the job.
Her passion and dedication to health and nutrition is beyond exemplary. She is an asset to the American public with her tremendous experience and vigilance to revolutionize dietary information. A wonderful human being.
Nina is a person of unparalleled integrity who understands the science around nutrition. She would be the best advocate for science-based nutritional guidelines that would prioritize our nations health. Her passion and hard work in this area would be a gift to this administration.
