Could not think of anyone better. She has the knowledge, the passion, and commitment to saving our population from the poor health effects of the old health and nutrition guidelines.
Nobody is better qualified.
Voting for Nina
Listened to an awesome presentation given by Nina in Switzerland at SWISS RE’s invitation at a fantastic event on Metabolic health. Her talk was definitely the highlight of the two day meeting at SWISS RE Headquarters. She is competent, passionate and dedicated, courageous, great speaker and an authority in the field of nutrition. She will challenge the status quo. Having Nina on the team would be an incredible WIN! The other three team members alongside Nina I would highly recommend are : Vinay Prasad, Jay Battacharya, and Martin Kulldorf.
She has spent the last 10y trying to convince the guidelines committee to use the most rigorous science available. The Dietary Guidelines must be based on the very the best scientific evidence available however, somehow, time and time again the committee finds reasons to exclude the best evidence. I trust no one more than Nina Teicholz to reform the process used to revise the guidelines.
Nina’s book helped set my family on a new path to wellness. My son healed from bipolar disorder with a ketogenic diet and we became immersed in the world of nutrition science as the chief philanthropic funder of cutting edge research and advocacy, and as the fueling funder of the field of metabolic psychiatry. We have worked closely with Nina on Nutrition Coalition and truly believe there is nobody better suited to rethink the USDA dietary guidelines. She is no nonsense, well-connected, passionate and knows the evidence like the back of her hand. There is nobody better suited to bring Americans dietary guidelines that are based on the most recent high quality evidence.
I have followed Nina for quite a while and always found her information factual and based on science. She has a professional manner and astute knowledge. The American public will greatly benefit from her appointment.
No one has devoted their life to the reformation of the DGA more than Nina Teicholz. Her tireless work on behalf of public health has helped thousands of people save their lives and reclaim their health, my own included. Her integrity and strong emphasis on rigorous evidence-based guidelines free from conflict and industry-bias makes her the ideal candidate to take on this role.
Nina Teicholz’s dedication to unbiased research and analysis, together with her understanding of the legislative intent and history of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) and the benefit to the health of students, veterans, hospital patients and other Americans that will come from taking conflicts of interest out of the DGA Committee, makes her uniquely qualified to lead the re-engineering of DGA and to build a process that keeps it free of corporate/agency capture into the future.
She has researched the topic of nutrition and has an indepth knowledge of historical facts that drove us to our current status. More importantly, she also has insight into what an improved nutrition guideline should be like. Her books, talks and research papers are the best testimonial. She should be leading the charge in rooting out conflicts of interests and restate the nutritional guidelines with an independent group of scientists, nutrition experts and physicians. There is no better candidate.
There is no one more prepared to address the colossal mission failures of the USDA Dietary Guidelines than Nina Teicholz, Phd. For the last two decades her research, writings and education which have focused on these issues of failure make her unique in her ability to begin on day one to make Americans healthy again.
Simply the perfect candidate to repair our dietary guidelines.
As an investigative science writer deeply immersed in the science of nutrition and its profound impact on human health, I strongly support the nomination of Nina Teicholz, PhD, to lead the U.S. Dietary Guidelines reform. Nina’s unparalleled expertise, dedication to evidence-based science, and courage to challenge entrenched dogma make her uniquely qualified for this role.
For decades, the U.S. Dietary Guidelines have been built on outdated and flawed research, contributing to skyrocketing rates of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. Nina’s groundbreaking work, including her meticulously researched book The Big Fat Surprise, has exposed how poor science—not rigorous evidence—shaped these recommendations. Her analysis has been validated by leading scientists and institutions worldwide, highlighting the urgent need to revisit and correct these guidelines.
Nina has demonstrated not only scientific rigor but also the persistence to advocate for change in the face of significant resistance. She has brought critical attention to the importance of low-carbohydrate and nutrient-dense diets, as well as the dangers of vilifying dietary fat—a perspective that aligns with an increasing body of research showing how the low-fat dietary experiment has failed millions.
Her ability to synthesize and communicate complex nutritional science for policymakers and the public alike is exactly what is needed to reshape the U.S. Dietary Guidelines into a framework that prioritizes health over industry interests. Nina’s nomination represents a rare opportunity to restore scientific integrity to a process that has the power to improve the health of millions.
I urge everyone committed to meaningful, science-backed reform in public health to support Nina Teicholz for this essential role. The time to act is now.
Fact driven well researchd and expert understanding! Nina Teicholz should be your selection!
You got my vote!
Nina is a ground breaking researcher. Put her in charge of US Dietary Guidelines.
I’ve been part of the Nutrition Coalition since its founding under Dr Teicholz and Dr Sarah Hallberg, two forces of nature making revolutionary change backed by science. We need Nina in a leadership position and not constantly jousting windmills as we continue to sleepwalk into Armageddon of human health. Dr Mark Cucuzzella, Dept of Veterans Affairs
No one is better suited to the task of reforming the US Dietary Guidelines than Nina Teicholz, PhD. Her knowledge , competence, dedication and integrity have served her well during the decade she has spent campaigning on this issue, and her consistently brave challenging of ‘business as usual’ is exactly what is called for at this time.
I can’t imagine anyone better suited for reforming the US dietary guidelines than Nina Teicholz. It would be a grave disservice to our new government to leave her out after all she has revealed and accomplished.
There are a group of us out here that have known the truth about good nutrition for a long time. And we know the truth in large part due to Nina Teicholz’s amazing work. We are living healthier lives because of the truths Nina has made us aware of. Thank you so much! I think it would be amazing to see her in a position to guide sweeping top-down changes to our nutrition guidelines.
