Nina Teicholz

Nina Teicholz’s independent research has uncovered how our existing dietary guidelines require reevaluation based on unbiased, rigorous studies as can be seen in her presentation: Nutritional Guidelines and Their Impact on Metabolic Health, from Swiss Re’s 2023 Fixing Metabolic Health Conference. Her evidence-based approach and dedication to improving public health make her the ideal candidate to lead the USDA’s Dietary Guidelines reform.

Heartily recommend Nina!

Nina Teicholz PhD knows not only where the conflicts of interests are, but also who has been compromised. She’ll have invaluable insights as to how to course correct our ailing S.A.D.
This needs to happen. Millions of Americans are trying to do the “right” thing according to the diet plate, or diet pyramid but they’ve been lied to for my entire life. Schools, Prisons, Hospitals all are beholden to wrong information bc it’s been more profitable to Big Ag, Big Pharma to keep status quo than to have correct info.
If anyone can change the whole machine for the better, it’s Nina.
This is the time.

I have been following Nina for several years now and I agree 100% with her criticisms of current USDA nutritional guidelines and her recommendations about improvements. Those of us who believe that the radical changes that were made to our diets (starting in the 20th century) are related to the epidemic of chronic diseases have been called conspiracy theorists for years despite ample scientific evidence to the contrary and I hope that Nina can start to reverse this. She is DEFINITELY the right person for this job!

Ms. Nina Teicholz has devoted a large part of her life researching diet and health. She has extensive knowledge of the field and knows the scientific literature on diet and cardiovascular disease. This includes randomized trials of macronutrients and cardiovascular risk factors and clinical events, and observational studies of diet and cardiovascular outcomes and diabetes. As many are aware, the nutrition research community is highly homogenous in their views and potentially prone to groupthink. Nina would bring invaluable knowledge and fresh perspective to a discussion that quite often hears singular viewpoints, which really doesn’t do justice to a field that is nuanced and frought with uncertainty, as would be expected for something complex like diet. Nina is a slam dunk choice.

Nina Teicholz is an excellent choice. She is a world leading expert when it comes to diet and is completely committed to helping Americans achieve better health. There is no one better to run the US Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

It’s hard to think of anyone more qualified than Nina Teicholz to redirect current policies regarding nutrition on a scientific footing. She is not beholden to any industry groups that would attempt to shape policies for their own profits.

Nina is an authority on nutrition and is evidence based in her recommendations. She will fix americas health crisis.

I firmly believe that appointing Nina Teicholz to oversee our nation’s dietary guidelines would be a transformative step toward evidence-based nutrition policy. As an investigative science journalist and author of the acclaimed book The Big Fat Surprise, Teicholz has rigorously examined the foundations of current dietary recommendations, highlighting inconsistencies and advocating for a more scientific approach.

Her leadership of the Nutrition Coalition, a non-profit dedicated to ensuring that nutrition policy is grounded in rigorous science, further underscores her commitment to public health.

Teicholz’s dedication to transparency and her willingness to challenge entrenched dietary norms make her an ideal candidate to lead a comprehensive review and overhaul of our dietary guidelines.

By considering her for this pivotal role, we have the opportunity to align our national nutrition policies with the latest scientific evidence, ultimately improving the health and well-being of all Americans.

Her book, the big fat surprise was instrumental in exposing the flaws intrinsic to the current guideline process. While I oppose the idea of federal nutrition policy, if we must have guidelines she needs to have a loud voice in the process.

I literally can’t imagine a more dedicated, sincere, and qualified person for this position than Nina Teicholz.

Wouldn’t that be amazing?

There simply isn’t anyone more qualified to oversee a complete scientifically-led (instead of multinational corporation-led) reconstruction of the US dietary guidelines.

Nina Teicholz is the person who informed the world that the US Dietary Guidelines were implemented by the US Department of Agriculture, which has been controlled by big-agra commercial interests for a long time. US Dietary Guidelines need to be directly under the purview of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and I endorse the fullest involvement of Nina Teicholz in this process.

Serious, consistent, scientific input to the Guidelines on the importance of carbohydrate restriction for a healthy diet has been a long time coming. No one better to energize the conversation than Nina Teicholz, experienced advocate for evidence-based nutrition policy.
