As and over the road truck driver who only gets five days at home after 5 werks of driving across country, I can say I am against Pete Buttigieg for DOT. He spent millions to investigate why women do not enter trucking. Give me $100,000 and i will tell you… their kids. Truckers rarely go home, even local ones work 14 hour days. During Biden and covid, rest areas and service plazas were shut down, preventing us from parking, finding food, or even using a restroom. Laundy services were closed. We were punsihed to work and threatened with mandatory experimental “vaccines”. The administration also supports forcing drivers to either buy a truck or be a company driver, eliminating the ability to “lease” a truck. This started in CA under AB5 and has expanded to NJ. After that, this administration supported an increase of insurance liabilitity limits that make it very difficult to own a truck. Insurance costs have nearly doubled in the last few years. 88,000 trucking companies went out of businesses in 2023. 8,000 freight brokers closed that year as well. 30,000 union drivers lost their jobs at Yellow Transportation when the largest carriers closed. DOT keeps promoting a truck driver shortage and paying for training. We do not have a shortage. We have an over capacity of drivers, not enough freight, difficult hours of service regulations, and increasing fuel costs.

Why would anyone nominate Pete B.? He has been a disgrace as transpiration secretary. The Dems are actually thinking he could be a nominee for president in the future. He was a DEI hire that showed how incompetent he was in his position. No where in the Trump administration. He should be unemployed as of Jan 20th, 2025!
Unity can and will come through those who have already crossed party lines to support President Trump. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard are life-long democrats who deserve a position in this administration. Elon Musk, while unlikely to accept a formal cabinet position, is also historically left-leaning. Mr. Buttigieg has dishonestly criticized the Trump campaign, and fallen in line with the contemporary Democratic Party on virtually every issue. His inclusion in the administration would only serve to derail progress and diminish trust in the incoming administration, which has been given a mandate to move on from the policies of the last 4 years.
