I was a public school teacher in Arizona for 15 years. I have a Bachelors, Masters, and Secondary Montessori certification. Before signing a full-time contract, I was a substitute teacher for all grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Upon entering full time position and over a span of 15 years, I taught grades level ranging from 5th - 8th grade in variety of subject and specialized programs outside of common core subjects and other extra-curricular activities. I was also a lead and mentor teacher. In addition, was the Director of Education for a no-kill animal shelter for just under a year where I lead the department underbudget, completely recreated all new curriculum and programming after a Covid shutdown. Lastly, I was a victim of exploitation of the Department of Education teacher loan service programs and federal regulations on a local state level and can speak directly to the disaster they created. I fully support the need to revamp the Department of Education on so many levels and have been outspoken about this to my leaders throughout my positions held within the field of education.

Nominator's thoughts on what would make this nominee a valuable member of a future Trump Unity Government

    1) Is Competent ...has a former educator in a variety of settings over span of 15 years, two degrees with GPA at 3.85 and 3.87, current AZ teacher certification through 2033 with specializations, Montessori certification and files of thoughtful cards, letters and reference letters that illustrate my competency in the words of others, in addition to knowing first hand the problems with the Dept. of Ed. teaching service loan plans, I believe this all demonstrates clear competency, interest and passion for any position I can be part of that works to revamp this federal department.
    2) Is Honest... You can ask anyone that knows or has known me in the past in both a personal and private capacity to describe me in 1-3 words and I can almost guarantee that honest will be one of the first words that comes to mind. My whole life I have been outspoken and passionate about exposing truth and injustice. Even today within a new employment sector I am outspoken to hold my leaders to their values and speak up when their actions do not align or are not in the best interest of our staff and project end-goal objectives. Many times my honesty as been viewed as a problem by those that have hidden agendas or lack the capabilities to be clear and direct with their reasonings and motives.
    3) Is Respectful ...100% respectful to freedom of speech, the constitution and the right to dissent. I feel my answers above illustrate a lot of that and freedom of speech is by far, the most important right and creates the right to dissent in the first place. Our country is the greatest country in the world because of our unique constitution and if we do not fight for its respect, we will no longer be. Though there were many deciding factors in my vote for Trump in 2020 and in 2024, when you distill them all down, it all comes down to free speech, our constitutional rights, and the right to dissent. I should note these values are engrained and an intrinsic part of my being and my whole life has many experiences to show for it. It is not limited to my adult and professional life, but even as a child and adolescent my core driving value has always been to be able to speak my mind and voice my own conclusions even in the face of being the unpopular opinion in the group, often risking being isolated or retaliated against.
    4) Has Integrity ... My passion to chose a degree in teaching was exactly due to my integrity to serve the public and the interests of the most important people: our children, our youth, our future. I have never bowed down or compromised that objective no matter the pressure from outside sources. I continue to do that today in my corporate job my holding leaders actions accountable to the values and people we serve. With the 2024 election, I also got hired for temporary position at the Maricopa Country Elections office in an effort to further serve the interest of people by seeking to gain an inside and honest perspective of any inner workings I could.
    5) Has Courage .. I feel like honesty and courage go hand-in-hand and that previous responses to to prompts in this field illustrate that as well. I am the kind of person that can't keep my mouth shut and just let injustice and portray of trust go. It eats me up inside and I feel like it is my duty to be an outspoken agent for change. Just recently my current boss has been blocking communication channels on levels above him and displaying what I consider inappropriate, unprofessional and unethical leadership practices and I first confronted him directly about them where he acknowledged and made commitments to course correct. Yet, he repeatedly did not align his actions with his words and I felt it was in the best interest of our team to take my concerns above up risking retaliation or lose of employee if taken the wrong way or not of concerns of the ones above him.
    6) Has a Proven Record... Yes, I do have a proven records of positive results of the people I serve. I have many letters and cards from students and their parents, reference letters and public LinkedIn reference letters from colleagues and past supervisors, and reviews and feedback from the public on educational programs I developed and oversaw.
