I’d be curious to know what the new administration’s view would be on housing for the homeless.

Here in Chicago, I see homeless children all the time. Setting aside the illegal immigrant issue, no child should ever sleep on the streets. I do think we have an obligation as a society to ensure people don’t end up without shelter at all.

I’ll be excited to see how Trump and his advisors handle this, if at all. I’d think the hundreds of billions we spend on unnecessary war could go to some of this.

Then there is the question of affordable housing for the middle class…

This feels like the first administration where a coalition of people are actually expecting a lot and will hold this administration accountable for making positive change. Bobby got exactly the environment he wanted. I think great things are coming!

We need someone who is willing to look at different options for housing so that people can actually own a home you can not own an apartment. Just like vehicles we have been building mcmansions for a while now, and no everyone needs that. Mixed communities where you have options in your housing for example if you are an older couple or single you may only need a small 2 bed 1 bath, but a family may be more comfortable in a larger home, but all in the same neighborhoods this way you have younger and older living together and helping on another. There are a lot of regulations that wont allow for things like this happening.

I agree, as a real estate investor for 17yrs. I started out buying repos in 2007 and selling them on land contracts to people that didnt have the opportunity to purchase a house. This has worked great for me and them.

As a retired Real Estate Agent who sold new construction and existing homes. I would suggest the affordability issue cannot be just a Tax credit with today’s prices. That will not help lower to middle class get into a home at this point.
I suggest we bring back the Civilian Conservation Corps . While FDR used this in the great Depression and was very successful in building roads, schools and many buildings across the U.S.

It can be done in present day in a different way for our Middle Class and Low Income Families, who desperately want that American Dream. Their First Home.

My Vision for Our Country- whether it makes sense or not- it is just a suggestion.

How it works is by using the Corps is, they Negotiate prices of all building material and lock in very discounted prices of these material all around the Country. .

The Conservation Corp will be nationwide consisting of talented men and women who will be building new homes for people.
This will provide many jobs for people all over the US. By being with the Corps they agree to work for X amount of dollars which keeps the costs of building down.
This does not have to be just new homes. It can be an older home that needs fixing up so the Civilian Corps would be involved in bringing it to code.
A modest size home would be the standard.
Land : The applicant can buy land in their city or town or land can be purchased from the Federal Government if the Government releases National Land to the public for this purpose of building First Time Homes.

The first time Home Owners would have an Income requirement that has to be met and be in the low- middle class income bracket based on the area they plan to purchase.
The applicant loan would be a special First Time Buyers Loan with the Civilian Corps and would be underwritten via what bank they choose that works with Freddie Mac.
The interest rate should be discounted and the loan can be a New- non traditional loan depending on cost.
Instead of 30 year Mortgage make it 40 years. This would reduce the mortgage monthly payment.
For those Companies that are willing to work with Corps and give big discounts on bulk building material- they would get a tax credit of some sort.
well that is my 2 cents.

I’ve been seeing reports about corrupt tax assessor offices in many states over valuing both homes and businesses for more tax revenue and eminent domain.

How can I nominate Bryan Meyers the CEO and co-founder The Veterans community Project.

That is good an all but there must be a few more lines added cause this leaves out a great many people.

First FUND section 8 Voucher program so that those that are disabled and barred from every even trying to buy a home can get reasonably priced housing regardless where they live.
Provide a house loan program or path for those that are disabled but want to have the chance to own a place to qualify for the funding and get the chance to find housing that they can buy.
Go after the banks for their rampant discrimination of the disabled and under cared for.
Doing just these three things would see a MASSIVE reduction in the homeless all across the US. PLUS all of these programs would be ONLY for full US citizens and NO illegal can qualify for ANY Federal money EVER.
One other thing I would do is that NO company or group can own more then one or two properties for renting out. Housing must FIRST be available for people to buy before it can be used as money making rentals. The same goes for any person from China or other places that comes here to buy up more then one place just to suck Americans dry of money and driving up the cost of housing by keeping homes off the market that could put a full citizen in it.

Found this company Geoship on Youtube recently building bioceramic geodesic homes, looks promising. If all their claims are true then it could be a way forward towards non-toxic, more resilient, longer lasting and more affordable homes.

We need someone who is willing to get Wall Street funds out of the single family housing market. Jeff Merkley introduced a bill in the Senate S. 3402 called End Hedge Fund Control of American Homes Act on 12.05.23 that would force them out of the market, but the Hedge Funds doing it which are primarily Black Stone and Black Rock and hundreds of nominees purchasing millions of home on their behalf, fund the majority of Congress’s members. Bobby Kennedy knows what needs to be done, but how much will Trump allow him to do in that space is still an unknown. This bill needs to be passed. However, Congress does lots of things to make it appear like they are trying to change things, but then they only pass bills that benefit Wall Street and the lobbyists for big everything as I am sure you already know. There is a book entitled Wall Street’s War On America And It’s Attack On Affordable Housing that explains what they have done and what’s needs to be done to solve the problem, but it will take someone like Bobby Kennedy to put the right people into the positions who understand what needs to be done and can’t be bought to fix it. When I see a man like Ben Carson who now has close to 1800 votes, you can see that they are already trying to highjack this process. He is so deeply entrenched in the status quo, if he were appointed to oversee it, he wouldn’t change anything. I hope and pray the Kennedy group will have the balls to put people in who will actually fix the problems.

We all im sure are appreciated that we was nominated and thought about as possibile being a candidate for housing, But according too the news article that was email too me it said Trump is considering picking a former NFL player to run hud , and i just wonder how thats gonna turn out since there alot of moving parts with housing and homeless, but no matter where this goes i will not stop fighting for the most vulnerable population .

I think property ownership should be reserved for American citizens only. Housing is not affordable. If we keep foreign interest out of ownership, it will help keep housing affordable and available for citizens. Also, corporations should be restricted from purchase - either no purchases allowed or minimal purchases only, again so housing would be available and affordable to the average US citizen. Thanks.
